Kyle Seager signs long-term deal with Seattle
Former Northwest Cabarrus Trojan Kyle Seager officially signed a multi-year contract with the Seattle Mariners in December.
In 2014, he batted .268 with 25 home runs and 96 RBIs, while scoring 71 runs. He also had a .981 fielding percentage at third base, committing only eight errors in 422 chances.
Right now he is only Cabarrus County player in Major League Baseball, but he has two brothers who hope to join him.
Dodgers high on Corey Seager
Corey Seager, a number one draft pick in 2012, is one of the top prospects in the Dodgers’ organization and Dodgers observers think he will be the team’s shortstop some time in the 2015 season.
In 2014, Corey Seager, 20, split time between Advanced A and AA ball, batting .349 with 20 home runs and 97 RBIs.
The Dodgers think so much of him that they turned down trade offers that might have brought David Price or Jon Lester to the LA starting rotation.
Justin Seager getting his feet wet in the minors
Justin Seager, a former Atlantic 10 Player of the Year for the Charlotte 49ers, played A ball with the Clinton (Iowa) LumberKings in 2014, his first full pro season in the Mariners minor league system. He batted .240 with three home runs and 37 RBIs.
