Kannapolis Tree Lighting Ceremony
6:30 p.m. | Village Park, 700 W. C St., Kannapolis

Kannapolis kicks off the Christmas season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The evening will feature live entertainment by area musicians, the arrival of Santa Claus, the lighting of the Christmas tree and a fireworks display. Admission is free.

Nov. 13-Dec. 30

Kannapolis Celebration of Lights
5:30-9 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays; 5:30-10 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays | Village Park, 700 W. C St., Kannapolis

Village Park comes alive with hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights and dozens of holiday displays. Attractions include the Winterland Express, Double Decker Carousel, visits with Santa, the Leonard Bearstein Symphony Orchestra, Kannapolis Singing Bears, holiday crafts, a fire pit and s’mores.

Admission to the park and light displays is free. Train and carousel rides are $2.50 per person. The Celebration of Lights will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Tuesday, Dec. 8

The Embers Christmas Show
Swanee Theatre, Kannapolis

The Embers return to Kannapolis for “A Very Ember Christmas,” featuring the band’s music along with holiday favorites. Ticket sales will be announced.

Saturday, Dec. 12

Kannapolis Christmas Parade
6 p.m. | Downtown Kannapolis

The annual nighttime Christmas parade travels through the streets of downtown Kannapolis and is expected to continue until approximately 7:30 p.m. Applications for parade entries and sponsorships are due Nov. 1.

Friday, Dec. 18

“A Christmas Carol”
7-9 p.m. | Swanee Theatre, Kannapolis

Sigmon Theatrical presents its production of the Charles Dickens classic featuring music, dance, puppetry and illusions. The family-friendly show includes an intermission and a meet-and-greet following the performance. Tickets are $25, with VIP tickets available for $35.

Saturday, Dec. 19

“A Christmas Carol”
7-9 p.m. | Swanee Theatre, Kannapolis

Sigmon Theatrical presents its production of the Charles Dickens classic featuring music, dance, puppetry and illusions. Tickets are $25, with VIP tickets available for $35.

Sunday, Dec. 20

“A Christmas Carol”
3-5 p.m. | Swanee Theatre, Kannapolis

The final scheduled performance of Sigmon Theatrical’s “A Christmas Carol.” The family-friendly production features music, dance, puppetry and illusions. Tickets are $25, with VIP tickets available for $35.
