2-A Western Finals: Mount Pleasant dream season ends

The Tigers played hard and were tied 17-17 late in the fourth quarter before Shelby took the lead and eventually won 31-17 to advance to the NCHSAA 2-A state finals.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Shelby. Tickets are $8. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

We will be there broadcasting, but hope to see you at the game. The game is a rematch of the 2007 Western Regional Final that was won by Shelby over Mount Pleasant 17-0.

This season the Tigers have won 12 straight games including last Friday’s 42-21 over previously unbeaten Owen.
