The Battle for the Bell kicks off the season

Radio Free Cabarrus will kick off its football broadcast season with the Battle for the Bell between Concord and  A.L. Brown at Robert C. Bailey Stadium Coach EZ Smith Field. Our broadcast will be audio only and will be simulcast on Memories 98.3 FM in Concord.

The game is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18. Time Warner Cable Sports will broadcast the game live on TV.

RFC’s Concord football broadcasts will be simulcast on Memories 98.3 all season long and if you love oldies be sure to tune in to the greatest hits of ’60s and ’70s on Memories 98.3.

Independent Tribune coverage

The Independent Tribune will publish a special Battle for the Bell section in Sunday’s newspaper and a football preview of all Cabarrus County teams in Wednesday’s edition.

Award-winning sports writer Jemal Horton, sports writer Henry Hutton and a team of reporters and photographers will have extensive coverage of Cabarrus teams and players throughout the fall.
