Former Concord Spider makes San Francisco practice squad
Lance Lewis, who played for Washington and Dallas last season, was signed to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad after the team made final cuts Saturday.
The former East Carolina star wide receiver caught a 49-yard pass during the 49ers final exhibition game.

Central Cabarrus star on ESPN Sunday
North Carolina A&T freshman quarterback Hasaan Klugh played in the Aggies’ 47-13 win over Alabama A&M Sunday. The game was nationally televised by ESPN.
Klugh, the former Central Cabarrus, had a 12-yard run to highlight his work as a back-up quarterback.
Davidson Wildcats win over College of Faith
The Davidson Wildcats snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 56-0 win over College of Faith-Charlotte Saturday at Richardson Stadium. It was the first win for second-year head coach Paul Nichols.

Nelson White (#75) from J.M. Robinson is the starting left tackle for the Wildcats. He started all 11 games in 2013.
The Wildcats host Catawba at 7 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Stadium Stephen B. Smith Field.
