Bulldog Day parade

The Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs were the toast of the town on Bulldog Day in Concord. A parade downtown and recognition on the stage helped celebrate the Bulldogs’ 3A NCHSAA Basketball title.

Western 3A Finals

Jay M. Robinson versus Hickory

The two top seeded teams in the West, #1 Hickory, and #2 Jay M. Robinson battle for the Western Regional title. The winner plays for the state title.

Jay M. Robinson versus Cox Mill

The NCHSAA Western Regional Semi-final
It’s a showdown between South Piedmont Conference Champion Jay M. Robinson and crosstown rival Cox Mill. The Bulldogs won the two previous meetings this season. The game has been moved to the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center to accommodate the big crowd.
The winner will advance to the NCHSAA’s 3A Western Finals Saturday.
Tonight’s game will be called by Shaked Bar-Tal, John Voncannon and Chris Hudson from Radio Free Cabarrus.

Hibriten at Jay M. Robinson

Cox Mill at Kings Mountain

Hibriten is at Jay M. Robinson at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Cox Mill travels to Kings Mountain for a 6 p.m.
Mark Plemmons and Shaked Bar-Tal call the action.
Also the Hickory Ridge girls will be in action at 7 p.m. at Ashbrook. All of today’s games are sectional finals.

Round 2 NCHSAA Playoffs

Hickory Ridge at Jay M. Robinson

This will be the fourth meeting this season for the Ragin’ Bulls and the Bulldogs. Last time out in the South Piedmont Conference tournament Jay M. Robinson won in double overtime 104-101.

Northwest Cabarrus at Cox Mill

Northwest Cabarrus comes to Cox Mill fresh off an upset of #3 seed North Henderson. The Chargers beat Asheville to advance to the second round.
The Hickory Ridge ladies are on the road at Pisgah in Canton for a second round game.

West Rowan versus Hickory Ridge (girls)

Concord verus Jay M. Robinson (boys)

At Cox Mill High School

It’s Round 3 for both these match-ups with the West Rowan girls and the Jay M. Robinson boys coming in as number one seeds. Both teams earned those #1 seeds with close wins on their home floors last Friday night.
Concord and Robinson split their games. The Spiders won 101-97 in overtime at Concord, while the Bulldogs won at Robinson also by four points.
