Unfortunately we could not get enough Internet to broadcast through The Cube nor could we update our page from the stadium to let you know that we were able to broadcast on Memories 98.3 and 1410 WTIX. High School Football Week 2

This week’s broadcasts on The Cube

Radio Free Cabarrus will broadcast three games this Friday as the high school football season enters week 2.

Coach Soupy Campbell and Perry Gabriel will call the North Mecklenburg at Cox Mill game. It will be the opener for the Chargers.

John Voncannon and Chris Hudson will call the Albemarle at Concord game. The Spiders are renewing a traditional rivalry. The Spiders and Bulldogs had played each other more times than Concord-Kannapolis until the series stopped in 1982.

Mark Plemmons and Shaked Bar-Tal will call the Mount Pleasant at Hickory Ridge game in Harrisburg. The teams haven’t met in the past three seasons.

Battle for the Bell

Concord at A.L. Brown on live TV

Time Warner Cable Sports Channel will broadcast tonight’s (Aug. 20) Concord at A.L. Brown game from Memorial Stadium in Kannapolis. The Battle for the Bell will be the first ever live TV broadcast of a high school game in the state.

Radio Free Cabarrus will broadcast an audio only play-by-play for fans who can’t get the Time Warner broadcast. John Voncannon and Chris Hudson will call Concord Spiders’ games all season long.

Sound Barrier plays at 6 p.m. The Kannapolis-based group features party favorits.

They will be followed by Too Much Sylvia at 8 p.m. The Charlotte-based group, which has Cabarrus County members, play oldies, current hits and her own hit beach music.

2. Kaleidoscope Arts Festival

Saturday’s festivities in Downtown Kannapolis is from noon to 4 p.m.

3. Symphony in the Park with fireworks

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra plays at Village Park in Kannapolis Thursday, July 2. The annual concert of patriotic music is followed by one of the best fireworks show in the area. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

It is part of the Kannapolis Summer Entertainment Series.

4. A Harrisburg 4th of July

The Town of Harrisburg has possibly the biggest Independence Day celebrations in the region. With activities and fireworks spreading over three days from Thursday, July 2, through Saturday, July 4.

Weekend fun: Little River Band, Ducktona Dash, movies and more

The Little River Band will perform a free concert at Village Park in Kannapolis with festivities beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 6. The evening will be capped for fireworks.

Cabarrus County Food Truck Friday is every Friday 5 to 9 p.m. at the Old Creamery on Church Street in Concord. The trucks are set up in the field behind the Old Creamery off Peachtree Avenue

The Kannapolis Intimidators are at home at CMC-NorthEast Stadium for a week-long homestand. It begins with a four-game series with the Delmarva Shorebirds today through Sunday (June 4-7).
