Purvis, Williamson & Delahoussaey shine in All-Star game

The East and West battled to a 10-10 tie in the annual East-West High School All-Star Game in Greensboro.

Cabarrus County was well represented with the efforts of Central Cabarrus running back Kenny Purvis and A.L. Wonders defenders Johnny Delahoussaey and Kyrell Williamson.

Purvis was a key player in the West’s rally from a 10-0 deficit in the fourth quarter. He scored on a five-yard touchdown run with 4:02 left. For the game he carried the ball 10 times for 70 yards.

or the West, Delahoussaey had three solo tackles and assisted on six others. Williamson had three solo hits and assisted on another.

Official practice for N.C. High School Athletic Association teams begins Aug. 1. The regular season begins Aug. 21 in the CharlottePreps.TV Kickoff Night and Aug. 22 for other teams including the Battle of the Bell between Concord and A.L. Brown.
